Monday, November 24, 2008 @ 7:27 AM The night that snowed. Just like how BBC had promised us. Yesterday, It was already 1am and I was in a cab with Jacqueline. We were on our way back from work when i noticed the light flakes floating its way down from the sky, just like a colloidal partical dispersed in the air. I cant help myself from 'wah-ing', as it was just too beautiful. The snow, ironically, gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling. It is a sign that Christmas is coming. Woohooooo! I love the seasons! When we arrived back at JBC, most of us were outside, celebrating the arrival of the snow! Excitement was mounting in everyone as the snow got heavier. As usual, we camwhored, jakun style. Some screamed, some got naked, some just danced in the snow ecstatically! So jakun we actually got threw eggs at and a whole lot of other stuff too from the opposite block of JBC. No kidding. Stupid ang mohs, can't they just let us act like a kid just for one night? This morning, there were traces of smashed tomato, mustard, broken condom (no kidding) on the walkway of JBC. Imagine lar what the no-lifes do when they see foreigner go frenzy over the snow. But at some point we can't blame them as it was very silly of us to scream over the solid form of H20. Oh well, who cares la I enjoyed every moment of the snowflakes kissing me bare skin! Ticklish, like s soft pinch! So brainless of me for leaving my handphone in the cab. Even more brainless for not noticing that it is missing until i needed it to set alarm. Thankfully the driver was a good samaritan, who purposely made his way to Rottenrow East to give the phone back to me. I'm damn lucky, I know. Huhu, before I knew I could get my phone back I actually had a new phone in mind wtf. Thank you Mr Taxi driver for your kind heart. Labels: Just another day, Life, Random 0 shouts. Monday, November 03, 2008 @ 4:59 AM When my two housemates were looking at one of the 7 wonders of the world, ![]() I was stuck looking at this crazy crowd of humans. Not just looking at them, but also sweeping of bread crumbs from tables, wiping spilled coffee stains, and picking up after the customers. It was too nice of them to call us the table clearer, when the truth is that I am actually the rubbish collector. My working outfit. I was working at the Exhibition Centre for the weekend at the BBCgoodfood show. Ha! Who knew Gordon Ramsay would just walk passed me, as in right in front of me! He smelled, erm manly, of course. haha. Oh, don't get me wrong. I'm not complaining. 5.60GBP per hour is good money. Who cares about collecting rubbish. Plus, the employers were very generous people. Lunch break I get to choose what i want to eat. Buffet style. Being a true Malaysian, I took full advantage of it and I get to save dinner too! =) Ahh feels real good coming back from work, despite the sore legs, muscle aches and painful shoulders. Makes my sleep for the night much more peaceful and pleasant. The house of H7 seemed so different without the presence of those two people. Its like it lacks energy. This may sound absurd but seriously, I actually miss the both of them. awww. 0 shouts. Sunday, November 02, 2008 @ 5:23 AM After months and months of slacking/procrastination/spending-like-there-is-no-tomorrow, finally, I've done something noble. I'VE GOT A JOB! Now, there's at least an income to my starving bank accont. The rate of excretion is just way too high. This whole getting a job thing has been driving most of us nuts. Its like we're competiting among ourselves to get jobs. Even from that you'll see things that U dun usually see. Ahh nvm on that. How great it would be if everyone gets a job. =/ I feel like I've achieved something great. Working in different places gives me different experience, but so far my jobs only involves plate waiting, serving, table clearing etc etc. Never knew a job that seemed so easy is actually not that easy after all. Who knew plate waiting can actually build muscles? U tell me! Every time after work, all you want is just a back massage or just lie flat facing the floor, hoping that the chair will just roll over you, HARD!Just so you know, I'm officially a Crowne Plaza Part Time Waitress. =) Sounds all big and reputable and geng and such, NO, it is NOT. Why? 1. It is not as professional as how other 4 star hotel. If not, a person like me also cannot be qualified to become a waitress lar rite. 2. The manager shouts at you as if you're like a dog. He just reminds me so much of Gordon Ramsay in Hell's Kitchen. (HA! I saw him at work today! Ya he looks just like how he looks on tv, duh~) 3. The plates are like made of bricks of gold. It was just too heavy, I wasn't physically and mentally prepared for it. Lately, I've been burying myself in piles of printed journals for my research project. The progress of my project is even slower than a snail. I've not met my supervisor more than twice and this bugs me so much because I really dunno what's going on and others have already started with their introduction! Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder. It even haunts me in my sleep. Need to read more journals now. Labels: Life 0 shouts. Sunday, October 05, 2008 @ 4:16 AM See Woo one of those places that I really look forward to going. Seeing things like Ayam Brand and Maggi instant noodles make me feel closer to home. Never knew grocery shopping could be of so much fun! Becoming an aunty already. Too bad the ang mohs dunno how to appreciate good white silken taufu. Japanese tofu, best thing ever invented. No fresh tiger prawns here. Only frozen shell-less ones. Expires in year 2010 O.O *gulps* Labels: Life 0 shouts. @ 4:16 AM It seems like winter came early in Glasgow. The temperature is slowly decreasing. My winter boots and windbreaker can come into use, finally! New semester has just started. It’s pretty ok so far. Some home students have been really cold, but some are really nice and friendly. Some are chatty, too chatty in fact. I couldn’t grasp what they were saying, because they speak at the speed of a bullet train and my mind operates at much lower speed, especially in the mornings. Here’s a short update on what’s been happening, There’s a skin rash epidemic hitting James Blyth Court. Many have suffered sudden outbreak of red bumps and patches on the body. Slowly, the rash becomes more intensely itchy and red. Initially, only few people were infected. But, as days go by, more and more people were developing the same type of rash. 4 out of the 7 of us who went Spain got the rash. Being the concerned mom, Hb (she wasn’t infected, so was I) suggested that those who got infected should go to the hospital, since NHS is paying for our medical consultation with the GP. So, 5 of us walked against the chilly wind (temperature then was 4C, mind you!) to the Accident & Emergency ward, in the middle of the night. Super melebih, I know. The receptionist was shocked to see so many of us. The expression on her face looks as if we have started a new disease outbreak that will bring harm to their country. Sadly, after a long discussion between the nurses and doctors, inspections over and over again, they came up with no conclusion. They suspected it to be flea bites, flea from the beds of our hostels we stayed during our stay at Spain. I feel really sorry for those who got them, especially the serious ones. Antihistamines aren’t doing much good to them. And today (9 days after my trip), a few itchy bumps developed on both of my arms! First the alcohol rash, and now, bug bites? Why am I always getting rashes? =/ Labels: Life 0 shouts. Wednesday, October 01, 2008 @ 2:55 AM NEW SEASONS OF DESPERATE HOUSEWIVES GOSSIP GIRLS GREY'S are OUT! I am so dead. I am deader than a corpse. Ha! I'm so lame. I've been a bed potato, not couch, for quite some time already. And I still will be. I finished 40 epis of tong sum fong bou in 3 days. Survived with cereals and only one carbo meal for those three days. What to do? When you are all alone overseas with no family and pet dog to play with :( but I love being a bed potato :) Labels: Life 0 shouts. |
