Friday, November 24, 2006 @ 11:54 AM its been raining for the passed two days. so now the air in Xiamen is really breezy clean n refreshing! the weather now is so perfect... even tho rite now i shut alone in my room, i feel relieved, relxed and in short.. i feel great! its nice to leave home for a while to a new strange and unfamiliar place. its even better when ur being treated VIP by ur relatives here. every meal is so delicious, the dinner... WHOA in mandarin we call big fish big meat, and their local delicacies r really interesting. things that r out of my imagination... i had worms and snails, but it all tasted really good. that explains y i put on weight like te speed of the bullet train! whoooaaaaa.. ISNT IT THE SADDEST THING TO NOT BEING ABLE TO FIT INTO UR MOST FAVOURITE PAIR OF JEANS?? T.T but in a nutshell, i really enjoyed this visit to china so so much. i can conclude this as my best china trip ever. well, when i say my best trip i dun mean the 'playing n traveling around' part, but being able to see close-related relatives that ive nvr seen b4 in my life is just the greatest and the most unforgetable experience. i get to witness how much they love and care for each and every family member. this is not stg i get to c in msia everyday. they really worked so hard, and so much they had to sacrifice to get wut they've achieved today. to become who they are today, its not durian runtuh but they went thru sweat and blood to get it. and for that i really respect them. not onlymy relatives but for the rest of the chinese in China. i still rmb 15 yrs back when my gugu came to visit us in msia, i was merely 4 yrs old. at that time, they didn't have tv, cars, electronics etc.. n when they c msia, its like how v see japan rite now. but after 15 yrs n now my turn to visit them, i c my 72 year old gugu using handphone. this may not sound very 'wow', but she is so much diff from the gugu 15 yrs ago. seeing them so advance, so successful, deep down i really feel very glad for them, especially my gugu. she has 5 obedients sons and daughters, more than 20 grandchildren, and also greatgrandchildren. what more can my humble gugu ask for. she's living so happily with no worries at all. every of her grandchild is talented and obedient, not to mention smart and hardworking. im so so happy for her, really. she is also the best gugu ever. n i really love her so much... i really have to come back xiamen next time. come back not only for her but oso for the rest of dad's relatives. ytd b4i sleep, gugu came to me and started talking.. talking bout my late grandma and oso bout my dad when he was still in china... so much they had suffered, so much they had sacrifice, i just couldnt hold my tears back... n she oso told me my mom wanted to stop giving birth after my 2nd brother. my grandma was quite disappointed as she wanted a grandaughter according to gugu. gugu said dad really wanted a daughter but he was afraid he might get another son. but later on they decided to er.. 'try'.... and when they got me, my father was so happy... n... n... i really dunno wut to say... im so happy to hear tht... n i dunno y i cried... 0 shouts. 。。 0 shouts. Tuesday, November 21, 2006 @ 10:38 PM hey there, It has been 5 days since i arrived at Xiamen, China. Only 5 days, but it is indeed unforgetable. The purpose of this visit was to attend my father's sister's daughter's son's wedding. Ya, wow indeed. I was very reluctant to come actually. Imagine i am to meet a buncha relatives whom i have NEVER seen in my life... Did i ever mention before my father's origin is actually JinJiang,Fujian? Erm, ya my dad's a CHINAMAN. That's why he's not much diff from other chinaman. He's thrifty, stubborn but very family-oreinted. He has 2 elder siblings, one sis and one brother. His sister and brother had already gotten married so they did not come to M'sia together with them. He came to M'sia when he was merely 9 year's old. Yup, like others, he and his parents came here hoping of looking for a better living and at the same time escape from the poverty there after war. However, his parents was quite wrong about the whole malaysia-can-give-us-better-life concept. My father had suffered a lot over here as his father, my granddad, died a few months later due to some unknown illness. He had no idea what happen to his own father. 9 year old at that time obviously do not know was is life and death at that time. anyway back to Xiamen. This place is so not what i thought it would be. 10 years back, my dad sister visited us before. Back then, for them to be able to go overseas its like a dream. My dad had to compensate partly of their airfare for them to come over. When we drove them around in a car, they're so impressed. They even wanted our old but still wearable clothes back to China. so i didn't really looked forward to this visit. imagine hanging around with people whom they call YOUR RELATIVES for 12 days, ppl who u have not met in ur entire life and suddenly ur there to attend his wedding. wow. interesting. how fun. but, we were welcomed by 12 people with really really warm smiles. and my dad's sis ( i call her ah go), she saw me n she hugged me instantly and cried at the same time... my heart melted instantly... one step out of the airport, many sky scrapers stood beyond us. Not just any ordinary 20-storey building, but really really nice ones, well at least not what i had expected. my original impression of my village was just like other ordinary village. house built of stones, not-so-nice toilets, wooden pillows n beds, not so many of machineries and electronics etc etc. but WHOA, decorative neon lights are as much as our advertisements billboards. the road are at least 3-lane wide.. ganas wei. cars over there are like 3 times more than us. n its not just any kancil or proton but 50% of the cars are sedane, mpv, lush cars not older than 4 years. and pls note that im not exaggerratin. i sat in my dad's sis's son's car... last time i still rmb they were very poor people, but suddenly they've changed so much, mentally and financially. n even handphones they're not any far from us, Motorola v3 is a very common phone over there! so sue me for discriminating them. but wut im really thinking is that, they've improve so much in such fast pace really impresses me, not just my relatives but everyone there... so friggin unbelievable! so proud to be a chinese!! but, the pollution there is so so so bad... the air there is like our very very bad haze, so bad until our government would had to announce public holiday... to that extend! but the people there do not seem to be bothered by it. and... whoaaa.. they smoke like drinkin water. they honk the car honks like stepping on the brake paddle. 2 days in Xiamen i felt that my lifespan had shorten 2 months... =s its just so bad. n my really sensitive nose really cant take it... asthmatic people shouldnt go xiamen。take my advice for ur own good aiks, gtg.. its kinda late already.. shall continue tmr... c ya 0 shouts. @ 9:14 PM hey dear! i miss you!…… XOXO, Yours Truly=) 0 shouts. |
